Francesca Cawley created Equi Organise at the end of 2024. Equi Organise is an equestrian organisation business that was born from Francesca’s need for organisation products as an International Dressage Rider. We caught up with Francesca to find out more.
Tell us about Equi Organise

Since I was twelve, I have been competing within BD Youth and I have also been fortunate to have been a National Academy Athlete for 2 consecutive years (2022 & 2023). More recently, I achieved my dream of competing for Great Britain at 4 CDIs, one of which being selected for the Juniors Nations Cup GB Team in Le Mans, France. During this time, I have been taught about the importance of planning and organisation to prepare for peak performance and so I was always looking for ways to facilitate this, whether it be a planner or something to keep track of my results and progress. I was never able to find anything that worked for me so that’s why I decided to start Equi Organise. Initially I was only creating templates for myself to use however I soon came to the realisation that this could be very helpful for fellow BD Youth Athletes, so I decided to start creating them!
What does Equi Organise offer?
At the moment, Equi Organise offers both physical and digital organisation products. Currently, we have 4 digital products: the Dressage Competition Results Tracker, the Eventing Competition Results Tracker, the SJ Competition Results Tracker and the Timings Organiser. The physical products that are currently available are the Packing List and the Eventing Competition Planner. Now sold out for a 3rd time, we also have the Dressage Competition Journal and the Equestrian Planner 2025.
What are some of the main features of the planner?
The main product that started Equi Organise was the Dressage Competition Journal. To my complete surprise, this has sold out 3 times and has recently been updated ready for a new release later this March. The Dressage Competition Planner (as it is now called!) has been designed with competitive dressage riders in mind. I believe, it has everything a rider needs to organise, plan & succeed, whether that be at International level or BD Youth level. It has several features which are:
- Horse & rider competition details: it’s always a struggle when entering competitions and you cant find or remember your membership numbers so in the planner there are dedicated sections to note this down for multiple horses allowing this information to be stored neatly in one place. Within the horse details, there is space for passport & microchip numbers which are also essential pieces of information which can be misplaced easily!
- Important contact details: this section has space for different practitioners (farrier, dentist etc) contact details, allowing easy access for communication with some of the most important members of your team. There is also space to add your own.
- Yearly Planning: with a colour coded section for optimum organisation, the yearly planner was designed so that riders can see their year at a glance and prepare for major events. This is completely undated therefore giving you the complete freedom to pick the planner up whenever you like. Yearly planning has been a key part to my organisation with my horse and something that I have learnt through the BD Youth Foundation & National Academies, hence why it is included in the planner.
- Training Planning: also undated (with space to add in your own dates for 12 months), the training planning section gives riders the opportunity to plan their schedules for each month. This is particularly beneficial to plan training and any horse health appointments, especially to ensure peak performance before a competition.
- Competition planning: this section is undated and includes 12 months worth for riders to plan their forthcoming competitions each month. It helps to organise key information such as closing dates to ensure riders stay focussed and organised.
- Training and lesson notes: for years I wrote all my lesson notes in a notebook. It became untidy, disorganised and I found myself losing focus and struggling to set goals between sessions. Therefore, this section has been designed to combat these issues, allowing riders to note down their training sessions in an organised and accessible way.
- Horse Health Logs: keeping track of horse health appointments (farrier, dentist etc) is essential for your horses’ welfare and to ensure you are peaking at the right time. I designed these logs to allow riders to make notes from the sessions and to also plan when the next appointment will be to ensure easy and efficient forward planning.
- Vaccination records: similar to the horse health logs, the vaccination record allows riders to log multiple horses’ vaccinations to ensure they are up to date and in accordance with the regulations.
- Feeding logs: this is something that wasn’t in the first version of the Dressage Competition Planner however I believe it is an essential element. Not only does it include feeding routines for multiple horses, but also space to log origin information for feeds and supplements which is important when competing nationally and internationally.
- Competition logs: the competition log has space for goal setting, results tracking, judges comments and the riders own thoughts. As well as space for warm up plans, the competition logs are a useful tool to mark progress and reflect on goals set prior to the competition and to also facilitate future goal setting.
- Competition progress tracker: this section includes progress trackers for individual movements and for overall competition results. I have designed it based on my previous experiences and what I feel is important to keep track of. Often, you can lose sight of how far you’ve come and the small goals you have achieved, so not only is this a great way to identify areas of strengths and weakness, it allows riders to assess their progress.
How does the planner help dressage riders?

I believe there is no other Dressage Planner on the market like the Equi Organise one, making it unique. Not only does it help dressage riders stay organised and on top of everything, but it also allows for planning, progress tracking and so much more. It has everything a rider would need all in one place therefore making it easy to keep information together, thus facilitating competition and training planning. It’s a unique planner as the designs and formats are all based on my previous experiences from the Foundation and National Academies up to my international experience, something that is very hard to find on the current market.
As a dressage rider yourself, why is the dressage planner a must have?
I use the planner every day. It allows me to plan my horses’ schedule, competition season and everything in between. As someone who prefers putting pen to paper as opposed to working digitally, I find the planner incredibly useful to mark my progress and identify my areas for improvement which further helps me tailor my training programme.
Are your planners suitable for every dressage rider?

The planner can be used by owners with multiple horses as there is space for each individual horse’s needs. The planner is mainly aimed at the amateur dressage riders however it is most certainly not limited to a particular level. Whether you’re starting out at intro, venturing onto the BD Youth circuit or chasing International dreams, the planner can be used to help all riders plan, organise and succeed (the EO slogan!)
Can you share with us anything that you have in the pipeline?
As previously mentioned, the next product to be released will be the updated Dressage Competition Planner. After this I have lots of ideas for new products such as a SJ Competition Planner, making the Timings Scheduler into a physical product and creating a general Equestrian Planner. I’m excited to see what’s in store for Equi Organise. I never imagined it would still be going and growing and I’m very grateful to each and every person who has supported EO so far.
