Who would be your dream horse to ride?

I love the horses that take your breath away, even if they are not the most practical or the one winning the class. I think the last time a horse did that for me was when I last saw Jovian. He sadly passed too soon, and I wouldn’t be able to ride one side of him, but I’d love to know what it felt like to sit on him!

A previous job was…

I used to model and also worked as a fashion photographer so I still have a big passion for visual art and fashion

Aachen at Chio stadium

Favourite horse event?

I love going to Aachen every year! I have done so since I moved here and it’s such a fun horse show.

Coffee shop order?

Loooove a dirty Chai.

Rita Ralão Portugese international grand prix dressage rider

Favourite holiday destination?

Italy and Spain are both favourites! My husband and I love to eat, so anywhere with good food is a winner. I also love New Orleans, and my home state of California has so many beautiful destinations!

Equestrian hero?

I love that Justin Verboomen came up so suddenly on his own horse who he always believed in, by doing things his own way for his own feeling, to me that is pretty heroic in Dressage!

If you could have five people for dinner, who would they be?

Do I get to ask them endless horse questions? Probably Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, Carl Hester, Isabell Werth, Kyra Kyrklund, Debbie McDonald

Most treasured possession?

I have an old 94’ Jeep Wrangler in a storage unit in San Diego that I refuse to get rid of and need to plan to bring over, her name is Frankie and she looks like a Hot Wheels, with big tires and flames painted on the hood – maybe not the ideal car for taking around clients, but I can’t bring myself to give her up!

Podcast I’m listening to…

There is a podcast called ‘Normal Gossip’ that I listen to on long drives. Really light and fun, if you like delightfully silly low stakes type of entertainment, it’s great!

Western riding

Another equestrian discipline that you would like to try beside dressage?

A lot of the western disciplines look fun, and I have had errant thoughts about doing a little jumping again here and there someday!
