Who would be your dream horse to ride?

That’s such a hard choice because there are so many amazing horses. I’d probably choose Valegro, even if it was just for a relaxed ride on long reins. That would be idyllic.

Ice cream flavour?

Usually Lotus, or mango when I’m in the mood for something more natural.

Juan De Dios Ramirez Garcia

Favourite place?

Tenerife, my home. The island where I was born, grew up, and dreamed. The peace I feel every time I go back there is incomparable.

Perfect breakfast?

I love having a Nesquik, since I’m not much of a coffee person, with toast, olive oil, and Iberian ham. That’s my ideal breakfast.

Favourite horse memory?

Many years ago, when I was around 19 or 20, I travelled to the south of France, to Marseille, to visit my friend Sylvia. We went on a horseback trail that lasted about six hours. It was my first experience like that. We spent the whole day riding, galloping through huge fields, got caught in heavy rain, had a picnic, and I even fell off a couple of times hahaha. It was amazing, enjoying the horses and nature with no competition pressure, just freedom. I loved it.

Equestrian hero?

Definitely Jessica von Bredow-Werndl. Her philosophy and way of understanding horses are a true inspiration.

Most treasured possession?

My photo albums, both digital and printed. They hold all my memories. As I said before, I love capturing everything.  I love photography and capturing moments, and I really enjoy looking at a beautiful image.

When shopping for clothes you will find me at….

For everyday or casual wear, I love Zara, it’s my favourite store. For equestrian clothing, I really like Maximilian and Pomme.

Drink on a sunny day?

This one’s a bit unusual. In the Canary Islands, there’s a local drink called Clipper, a strawberry soda. They also make an apple flavour, but strawberry is my favourite. You don’t usually find it outside the islands, and most people don’t even know it exists. Whenever I fly home to Tenerife to visit my mum, I know there’ll be a bottle of Clipper de fresa waiting for me in the fridge. It makes me so happy, like going back to my childhood.

Music I like listening to….

I’m very emotional when it comes to music. I don’t really have one favourite singer or band; it depends on my mood. I can go from listening to Karol G to Estopa, or even high-frequency meditation music when I need to focus and relax.
